Ok, the correct show is now uploaded. Sorry about that. The file names were apparently too similar for me to bother to tell the difference.

Sleep and hibernation: frequently asked questions

Sleep is a power-saving state that allows a computer to quickly resume full-power operation (typically within several seconds) when you want to start working again. Putting your computer into the sleep state is like pausing a DVD player—the computer immediately stops what it’s doing and is ready to start again when you want to resume working.

Hibernation is a power-saving state designed primarily for laptops...hibernation puts your open documents and programs on your hard disk, and then turns off your computer. Of all the power-saving states in Windows, hibernation uses the least amount of power. On a laptop, use hibernation when you know that you won't use your laptop for an extended period and won't have an opportunity to charge the battery during that time.

notes about the August 17th podcast

BIG NEWS DAY:
TV NEWS BALANCES STORIES, NEW TECHNOLOGIES, LOCAL VS. NATIONAL COVERAGE

...KOLD showed a brief Skype video of the protest scene at 5...and then spent most of the rest of the block using Skype from the protest scene.

KOLD loves using the Skype computer phone/video technique. The station's logic is that by using a computer connection, the reporter can get to a scene and start reporting more quickly. It's also more flexible in terms of providing video from scenes that would be otherwise difficult to reach.

...The quality of the Skype footage paled in comparison to the more traditional live video displayed on the other two stations.

notes about the August 10th podcast

During the recording of the podcast, I did not fully understand what Robert was trying to describe to me...after recording the podcast, I found what he was talking about: it's "angiokeratoma". From what I've read about it, excision and grafting may be necessary to remove the lesion(s)...recovery time can range from three to twelve weeks.

Robert also has fibrous papule's of the nose and Poikiloderma of Civatte.
Thank God he does not need a ball grafting....Yet.

Don't play around with skin issues.

notes about the August 3rd podcast

It's been estimated that bus riders are probably in the lower half of the income spectrum in Tucson...close to half the families are renters...

==============================

...a group of people...think if Sun Tran falls under the RTA umbrella, the poorest riders would not be protected from fare increases.

The city of Tucson is having budget troubles and the RTA has enough transit money set aside it says for the next five years at least.

http://www.kold.com/Global/story.asp?S=12913650

=========================

RTA Executive Director Gary Hayes has pushed for the transfer, despite the fact that an Arizona Daily Star calculation shows it could cause a $72 million shortfall in the RTA's budget over 15 years. Hayes said that hole will be filled with operating efficiencies and federal grants.

Several nonprofit organizations and advocates for the poor...against the transfer because they fear it will lead to higher bus rates. Some bus riders said the strike would be a big inconvenience to them and their families.

notes about the June 29th podcast

At 52 minutes into the podcast, I describe my bad experience with the television show "The Locator" that's on WEtv (Women's Entertainment).

Based on my experience, I strongly suggest no one participate with this program:  after the show was interested in reuniting me with my father, I was told by the private investigative agency that was being used (the "Investigation Consultant") that I needed to pay a fee of hundreds of dollars for them to proceed with the process.  When I initially agreed to participate in "The Locator", there was no mention of any fees at all...

Program: FRONTLINE
Episode: The Suicide Tourist

Five months after being diagnosed with ALS, Craig Ewert arrived in Switzerland for his scheduled suicide. A story about struggling to live ... and deciding when to die.

"...The Suicide Tourist is a portrait of Ewert's final days as the Chicago native pursues a physician-assisted suicide in the one place where it's legal for foreigners to come to end their lives: Switzerland. With unique access to Dignitas, the Swiss nonprofit that has helped more than 1,000 people die since 1998, The Suicide Tourist follows Ewert as he debates the morality -- and confronts the reality -- of choosing to die before his disease further ravages his body, and he loses the option to die without unbearable suffering."

And, after reviewing this podcast, I find Robert is correct in the upcoming June 29th episode/podcast:  (in an effort to be "cute and controversial") I was the person which insinuated that B.D.B.
