The Only Way To Know What A Man Is Really Thinking

http://www.yourtango.com/experts/christian-carter/how-get-rid-fear-get-past-mistakes-and-find-love-now?cid=nl

===============================

...Research shows that two thirds of all couples will experience a precipitous drop in marital satisfaction following the birth of their baby.

Those cute little bundles make us so happy and fill us with love and delight, but also stress us out – which can make us and our partners irritable. Our communication breaks down and we find ourselves not working together as a cohesive unit. Believe it or not, this is very common and pretty “normal,” but it’s still icky – and avoidable.

Effective communication is the cornerstone of satisfying relationships. Go out of your way to talk with your partner several times throughout the day. Inquiring about how they are doing and what’s on their mind; you’ll be letting your partner know that he or she is a priority and that you care about them.

Happy guys finish last, says new study on sexual attractiveness

Women find happy guys significantly less sexually attractive than swaggering or brooding men, according to a new University of British Columbia study that helps to explain the enduring allure of “bad boys” and other iconic gender types.

...The study, published online...in the American Psychological Association journal Emotion...

“...showing a happy face is considered essential to friendly social interactions, including those involving sexual attraction – few studies have actually examined whether a smile is, in fact, attractive,” says Prof. Jessica Tracy of UBC’s Dept. of Psychology...

The study found that women were least attracted to smiling, happy men, preferring those who looked proud and powerful or moody and ashamed. In contrast, male participants were most sexually attracted to women who looked happy, and least attracted to women who appeared proud and confident.

“It is important to remember that this study explored first-impressions of sexual attraction to images of the opposite sex,” says Alec Beall, a UBC psychology graduate student and study co-author. “We were not asking participants if they thought these targets would make a good boyfriend or wife – we wanted their gut reactions on carnal, sexual attraction.” He says previous studies have found positive emotional traits and a nice personality to be highly desirable in a relationship partners.

Displays of shame, Tracy says, have been associated with an awareness of social norms and appeasement behaviors, which elicits trust in others. This may explain shame’s surprising attractiveness to both genders, she says, given that both men and women prefer a partner they can trust.

Overall, the researchers found that men ranked women more attractive than women ranked men.

Reporting on a CEO's felony conviction is now "picking" on him? Wow. @slick @BWest @BloombergWest $OCZ

http://twitter.com/#!/CoryJohnsonTV/status/62318178537189377

------------------------------------------------------------------

According to a research note, the company was alleged to have hidden CEO Ryan Petersen's youthful misdeeds from investors during the recent secondary capital-raising...

Petersen himself chimed in, telling Bloomberg: "I believe my only felony conviction was for trafficking in stolen property in exchange for marijuana." He told Bloomberg that the stolen property had been a car stereo and that the phrase "youthful indiscretion" had been a term chosen by the underwriters. He added: "It's irrelevant information. I did a lot of stuff I'm not proud of, but I built a company out of the ground with no venture capital."

The 1934 US Securities Act requires a company must reveal information about any executive convicted of a criminal proceeding or is named subject to a pending criminal proceeding in the past 10 years. Petersen's conviction was in 1998 and this was altered to a misdemeanour in March, 2006. Since the second funding round offering was in April 2011, there was no requirement for OCZ to reveal the information...

Evan Emory performed a song before children...later, edited the audio...and posted it to YouTube.  In it, he appeared to sing a song about sex...he didn't actually sing dirty things to kids:  he edited the video so it appears he did.  And, twice in the video, he stated so...

Through a plea deal, he dodged a "manufacturing child pornography" charge...and now will not need to register as a sex offender.  Officials charged him for “manufacturing child abusive material”...Emory pleaded no contest to "unlawful posting of an Internet message with aggravating circumstances."

Judge William C. Marietti, of the Muskegon County 14th Circuit Court, sentenced Emory to:
60 days in jail, two years probation, and 200 hours of community service.  Emory must attend mandatory counseling, and pay fines and costs.  He also has been ordered to stay away from public places where children hang out (such as parks, playgrounds and pools), and cannot be within 500 feet of children under the age of 17.

Notes for the March 22 podcast

The movie we discussed that has been released on the internet, on YouTube, is "Girl Walks Into a Bar".

"GIRL WALKS INTO A BAR connects a group of apparent strangers over one night across ten bars throughout Los Angeles. Zachary Quinto stars as a dentist who teams up with a feisty would-be assassin (Carla Gugino) to put the final touches on the plan to kill his wife. Once he makes a play for the assassin's payment, he unknowingly sets off a chain of events that fuels a crosstown journey through the many lounges, bars, strip clubs and the occasional nudist ping pong clubs scattered across Los Angeles. By turns funny and heartbreaking, this sharp-witted comedy features ten interconnected vignettes that build to a revealing finish."

Among the talented cast bringing the characters onto the screen in Sebastian Gutierrez's GIRL WALKS INTO A BAR are:

Carla Gugino (Faster, Watchmen)
Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, "Heroes")
Danny DeVito (Get Shorty, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia")
Josh Hartnett (Thirty Days of Night, Pearl Harbor)
Rosario Dawson (Unstoppable, Grindhouse)
Emmanuelle Chriqui ("Entourage", You Don't Mess with the Zohan)
Aaron Tveit (Ghost Town, "Law and Order: SVU")
Robert Forster, Academy Award® nominee (Jackie Brown)
Amber Valletta (Hitch)
Gil Bellows ("Flash Forward," The Shawshank Redemption)
Kevin Zegers ("Gossip Girl")
Alexis Bledel ("Gilmore Girls," The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants)
Michelle Ryan ("The Bionic Woman")
Xander Berkeley ("Nikita")
